Double Hexagon Earrings in Gold

These gold geometric earrings are made of two hexagons dangling on earwire. The hexs are hand-shaped from square wires. They have nice movement from the connections. 

MEASUREMENTS

▶ Drop length: 1.5" (38 mm)

▶ Hexagon sizes: 0.6" (16 mm) and 0.4" (10 mm)

MATERIALS

▶ 14K gold filled ear wire

▶ Brass hexagons. Brushed satin finish. 

STORY

The hexagon is one of the most common shapes in nature. From honeycombs to snowflakes and patterns found on fruit skins. It's no surprise there is a resurgence of this geometric shape in design. 

When designing these geometric earrings, I wanted to make something retro yet stylish. Thus, while all findings are in 14K gold filled, I chose brass hexagon to create the retro look. Layering two sizes of hexagon also adds fullness to the open design.
